SCAD WORLD SCHOOL is a Co-Educational English Medium School situated at National Highway, Pazhaveli, Chengalpet – Chennai on 30 acre eco – friendly campus with 100000 square feet built up space. The School is founded by Dr. S. Cletus Babu who is a prominent, efficient, dedicated philanthropist who has got a vision and mission of liberating the downtrodden to the sphere of education spreading its wings to accommodate the ordinary to the field of extraordinary, which is known for its selfless service through educational institutions. It is a full pledged school with classes from KG to VIII STD in this current academic year and will have extension in the coming years.

The School shows the remarkable commitment to groom the Child to be mentally, emotionally and physically fit. It aims to provide quality education to excel in his / her chosen field and face global challenges. In order to guide and advise on school matters and its growth, the Board is guided by the highly experienced educationists and professionals. The Board meets periodically and discusses overall development of the school and chalks out strategies to meet the growing demands of the time.

Our Teaching Methodology

At SCAD World School, we prescribe to the best practices prescribed by the NCERT and other affiliating and accreditation bodies.   As Active Learners, the students at our school are also collaborative learners. This gives the children the opportunity to engage in discussion, take responsibility for their own learning, and become critical thinkers.

To ensure that every child has clear and thorough understanding of concepts, the school holds Concept Review sessions at the end of the day.

At SCAD World School, the needs of every child are first identified then her / his learning ability is benchmarked. Following this, a program of study is specifically designed to focus on the child’s individual abilities.

We are also in the process of designing distinctive programmes to challenge our gifted and talented students who are achieving, or have the potential to achieve, at a level substantially beyond the rest of their peer group.

Infrastructure of School

Campus: The vast and beautiful campus having 50 plus acres of land is indeed a feast for the eyes with high raised hills around the school, thriving plants on matted grass lawns which keeps students fresh and active throughout. The school is set in an elevated position and is surrounded by grassed areas. The campus is totally pollution-free and is conducive to the overall development of the child. It has children's park, gardens, swimming pool to satisfy all age group of students.

Transport: The School owns 5 buses, which ply between different areas to the school. The transportation fee is collected along with the annual fees. Students who opt for this facility have to avail it throughout the year. Bus stops are fixed after thorough survey of the situation and any future request for a change would be considered only on valid grounds acceptable to the school.

School Building: Building has got all kinds of modern accessories having all kinds of safety measures, toilet facilities in each floor for Boys and Girls separately. It has laboratories, library, computer center, audio-visual room, sports room, gymnasium, music room, band room, prayer hall, indoor sports complex, auditorium, first-aid room.

Class Rooms: Classes are well resourced and children play their part in keeping their rooms clean and tidy.  Each class has access to practical facilities and drinking water. It has digital board, racks & soft board. And EDU Com Smart Class accessibility is available with each and every class room with Air conditioner. 

Auditorium

The Auditorium, or the MPH (Multi Purpose Hall) with a seating capacity of 1500, is meant to be more than just a space for getting together to perform shows or functions. It is meant to serve as the veritable soul of the institution. A space where students play indoor games, catch up with their friends in the break time, have arcane arguments, intellectual debates or just plain exchange of enjoyable banter. This venue will act as the area for students to have sessions of Drop Everything and Read or just get together and jam

Library & Laboratories

The School Library at SCAD World School is meant to be much more than just a library. It is meant to serve as an entire world of discovery and wonderment; a place where our young students will learn the importance of books in their academic development.

One of the outcomes of their regular visits to the library would be their gradual understanding of the joy and inspiration books can bring throughout their lives.

The library is meant to play an integral part in the delivery of the curricular programme. It is meant to provide supporting material for learning in the classrooms, and help teach skills required by the students to become literate, informed and able to face the world.

Laboratories: Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Computer Lab, Language Lab and

Mathematics Lab.

 

Teaching Staff:  The school is proud to have a team of highly qualified and experienced staff in each of the Wings. They impart knowledge in strict accordance with the CBSE guidelines. The School provides child-centered learning opportunities so as to explore students’ latent abilities and sharpen their personalities.

Sports & Games

Our approach to sport at SCAD World School is in line with our core belief of excellence in all spheres and that every pupil has the ability to achieve something incredible beyond the classroom.

The main objective of the sports programme, therefore, would be to identify and develop a skill in every pupil, because achievement in one area so often proves to be the key to success in school life as a whole.

All students would participate in physical education classes, an integral part of the curriculum, and will revolve around guidelines on healthy lifestyles, exercise and sensible diet.

SCAD World School will initiate a comprehensive sports programme and have multiple teams at the high school and middle school level. Our student-athletes will compete, against local area schools in Chengalpet, Kanchipuram, Chennai and other international schools throughout India

Performing Arts (Outside Class Room)

At SCAD World School, we shall encourage every student to pursue a broad and balanced co-curricular program, providing them with a variety of challenges and experiences through which they can grow into confident, well-rounded individuals. While our performing arts program has many facets, the common thread is building personal confidence through the systematic development of performance skills

Academic year

       The School’s academic year starts from June to April. The school opens in the first week of June. Ten days holidays are granted in September and in December. The School will function on all days except on Sundays and Government holidays.

The Academic Year comprises of two terms:

First Term

June to September

Second Term

October to April

Medium of Instruction: English, which is also the first language taught at the School.

Examination:

Qualifying examinations are held at the end of the academic year. We conduct two Formative tests and one Summative Examination for each term.

Admission

Application Form: Application form is granted from Classes KG to VIII. Parents who are seeking admission for their children have to get the prescribed application form and prospectus from the School Office. Application form for admission will be issued from January to April based on the availability of the seats.

Submission Date: The filled Application Forms for Registration should reach the School Office within 15 days from the date of issue. The Application Form must be accompanied with the following documents.

 

  • The Original Birth Certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate
  • 2 latest passport size photograph
  • Photocopy of the progress report of the School last attended
  • Registration /Admission Fee Rs. 1000 /-

 

Instructions to Fill

  • The application form is to be signed only by the father of the student. If not, the mother or guardian should sign.
  •  Full permanent address (Residential) must be shown clearly.
  • Parent’s occupation and office address also must be furnished.
  • It should be mentioned Mother Language and Second Language.
  • Father’s and mother’s full name should be written without any error in the spelling of their names
  • The details furnished in the filled in application form should be correct in all aspects. Any discrepancy or false information will render the application liable to be rejected.

Note to the Parents – School Open Day

    The school conducts open day periodically for all the parents / guardians to meet the Principal, Vice Principal, Class Teacher and Subject Handling Teacher. The date and time will be mentioned in Hand-Book. The parents are requested to attend open day without fail in order to help the teachers to mold your children.  The cumulative record is maintained in the school for each student. Parents are requested to ask record of your child on Open Day.

Visiting Hours

Vice Principal:  9.30 am to 11.30 am

Principal          :  2.30 pm to 5.00 pm

Fees Regulations

  • School fees must be paid on or before the due date. If the fees are not paid on or before, the due date (date of the 1st examination in the current academic year), a fine of Rs.1000/- per month will be charged
  • Students will not be allowed to take up any examination unless the fees are paid fully.
  • All fees should be paid to the Cashier from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the School Office.
  • Parents must keep the fee receipts issued to them safely and produce it as a proof of payment if needed.
  • The fees once paid will not be refunded on any account.
  • Damage caused to the school furniture, library books, lab items, etc., must be paid by the concerned students. Final decision will be at the discretion of the Management & Principal.

Amendment of Rules and Fee

    The management reserves its right to increase the fee structure and introduce new rules, amend or change existing rules and regulations in the event of exigencies, in pursuit of the aims and objectives of the Managing Society and the school on a need – basis from time to time.
